The Folger Shakespeare Library

Theater History on the Web

The "Area Studies" section is probably the most useful. It is divided into six time periods. There are also many related areas for theater studies. Maintained by a retired University of Washington drama professor.

National Theatre Black Plays Archive

Production Plays by black British, African, and Caribbean writers in the UK. The Black Plays Archive does not include performance poetry and art, readings, revues, cabaret, recitations, sketches, or puppet shows. The project focuses solely on the premieres of these plays and as a result, does not provide information for all subsequent productions.
