The Big Questions:

  • What is the appropriate scope of investigation?

  • What tools and research methods can help us know what we do not know?

  • What gaps or weaknesses are there in already gathered information?

Understandings:

  • Complex research questions should be broken into simpler research questions for the purpose of limiting the scope of investigation.

  • Information should be gathered from a variety of sources.

  • Research is iterative.
